Part 2:

When I found out that Justin.tv lets you stream pre-recorded videos on your channel that appear to be live video when you’re not in fact broadcasting live, I decided to make a video for that purpose for fun and also to bait some haters. My goal was “awkward entertainer”.
My attack plan was 3 fold:

1) look as uncool as possible without being obvious (so someone who has seen me before isn’t immediately tipped off that its a gag)
2) throw in some video-blog type commentary
3) provide a gayish and awkward enough personality to where it appears that this is 100% *me* and not a character or put on.

Overall, I’m not happy with it as a total put-on, but it’s still entertaining and will probably fool a decent percent of Justin.tv viewers who randomly tune in (meaning: despite the give-aways, I’m sure many will still think I’m really the awkward loser I’m acting as – just not enough as I’d like). I was be wobbly on #3 (still need practice), and I could have cut down on a lot of the standup-schtick as I think it gives the whole act away in certain parts. oh well. Its still a fun watch. My setup was:
1) washing/drying my hair so its unstyled yet flimsy to accent a plain white t-shirt and nondescript black hoodie. I also opened the blinds on the windows in my room completely, so the shine off my face would make me look as pale as possible.
2) fill as much time as possible (just under 20 minutes) with inane commentary, personal reflection and seeming attempts to reach out into cyberspace as a last ditch effort to gain social contact, &
3) utilize awkward pauses, facial tics and body language to appear like a loser who is seriously trying hard just to be liked. on voice, i tried to mimic a subdued (so not to be obvious) version of Adam Carolla’s gay assistant Matt for just a *hint* of gayccent and for an added effect, I used a lower quality audio capture so the ends of words would have just enough static to make them stick.
